By accessing or using FuelTheGuide ("the Service"), you agree to these Terms of Use. If you do not agree, please do not use the Service.

Description of the Service

FuelTheGuide is a free, read-only web application that displays national average retail fuel price data sourced from the OpenVan open dataset (CC BY 4.0). It allows users to compare prices across countries, convert between currencies and units, and export data for personal use.

Data accuracy and limitations

Prices displayed are national averages compiled from publicly available sources. They are intended for general reference and comparison only. They are not real-time, they do not reflect prices at any specific fuel station, and they may differ from what you actually pay at the pump.

Do not rely on data from this Service to make financial, business, or travel decisions without verifying current prices through official or local sources. We make no warranty, express or implied, as to the accuracy, completeness, or timeliness of the data.

Permitted use

You may use the Service to:

  • Browse, compare, and analyse fuel price data for personal or research purposes
  • Export data as CSV, PDF, PNG, or JPEG for personal or non-commercial use
  • Share links to specific views of the Service

You may not:

  • Scrape or systematically copy the Service's content in a way that competes with or replicates the Service
  • Misrepresent the data as real-time or station-specific prices
  • Use the Service for any unlawful purpose

Intellectual property

The underlying price data is provided by OpenVan under the Creative Commons Attribution 4.0 (CC BY 4.0) licence. You are free to share and adapt that data provided you give appropriate credit to OpenVan.

The FuelTheGuide application code, design, written content (guides, glossary, news articles), and brand are the property of FuelTheGuide and may not be reproduced without permission.

Nothing on this Service constitutes financial advice, investment advice, or professional guidance of any kind. The Service is informational only.

Availability

We aim to keep the Service available but make no guarantee of uptime, data freshness, or continuity. We may modify, suspend, or discontinue any part of the Service at any time without notice.

The Service contains links to external websites (government sources, news organisations, international bodies). We are not responsible for the content, accuracy, or privacy practices of those sites.

Limitation of liability
